Our Story

It all started when…

Margaret had an internship in NYC during undergrad. One of her jobs was to take samples and canceled styles and cut them in half. This was so that homeless people couldn’t go through the trash and be caught wearing high end clothing. Being a student attending Pratt Institute at the time and knowing how painful it is to sew bias bindings, welt pockets, fly’s ect… Margaret felt sympathy for the person overseas sewing these beautiful clothes just for her to cut them in half.

Her junior and senior year of undergrad were spent developing the method to end fashion waste. We have enough clothes that have already been made and it is time that we create a circular system.

Cue Margaret Burton Inc., now a clothing non profit that creates 100% recycled garments.
